From the standpoint of a certification candidate changing roles or entering the IT field, the choices can seem overwhelming.

The ITCC Career Pathways Task Force recently published the Certification Journey white paper, now available in the member portal. The paper focuses on the certification journey from the perspectives of three types of candidates: the Newbie, the Career Changer, and the Upskiller.

During the May Education Session, members of the task force presented the findings of the paper, and then lead a discussion on the certification journey.

The last ten minutes of the meeting included an ITCC financial presentation by John Sowles, Treasurer.

This is not a coincidence. IT certification has long been a proven means of differentiation and qualification among professionals in the industry. Employers often include certification as a prerequisite when seeking qualified candidates to fill positions; consumers often trust only those IT professionals who boast credentials proving they have attained a certain level of knowledge.
